Hall Joins Oilers As General Manager
Front
The man who helped lead the Oilers to the first Central Hockey League title when the league revitalized in 1992-93 is back to lead the Oilers front office staff as the Oilers again embark on a new era, heading into the BOK Center.

Taylor Hall, who played the first four seasons for the Oilers, has assumed the role of General Manager for the team. Hall played from the 1992-93 season through 1995-96. In 243 regular season games for Tulsa he tallied 124 goals, 145 assists for 269 points. In addition to winning the championship his first season, the Oilers qualified for the playoffs all four seasons Hall played for them. In 33 playoff games, Hall had nine goals, 14 assists for 23 points.

Fans will have the chance to welcome Hall back to Tulsa on Monday May 5 at Cowboy Sharkies at 58th and Memorial beginning at 4:30 p.m.

“We’re glad to have Taylor back with us,” Oilers president Jeff Lund said. “He’s always been one of our fan favorites and has a great plan for us moving into one of the best arenas in the country.”

Hall, who also played 41 games in the National Hockey League with the Vancouver Canucks, and Boston Bruins, began his front office career upon his retirement. He coached the New Mexico Scorpions and Corpus Christi Ice Rays in the former Western Professional Hockey league. He later became general manager in Corpus Christi and held that role as Corpus Christi joined the CHL with a merger with the WPHL in 2001.

He later served as general manager for the Alabama Slammers of WHA2, a team that featured Oilers all-time scoring leader Doug Lawrence, and coached by former Oiler coach Garry Unger.

“This is an unbelievable opportunity for the Oilers and the entire Tulsa community,” Hall said. “Tulsa is a special place as evidenced by the number of players who have stayed here and made it their home after their playing days.

“I remember the excitement when the Oilers first started, the thousands of fans who were there when we had our championship parade,” Hall said. “That’s the kind of atmosphere we can rekindle throughout Tulsa and the entire region.”

Season tickets for the Oilers 2008-09 season in the new BOK Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
