REUTERS -- ’Thunder’ runbles past ‘Dark Knight’ with $26M Movie
It took four of Hollywood's biggest stars to take down Batman. The DreamWorks-Paramount comedy "Tropic Thunder" — with Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black and Tom Cruise — debuted at No. 1 with $26 million, bumping "The Dark Knight" to second place after four weekends on top, according to studio estimates Sunday. The Warner Bros. Batman flick pulled in $16.8 million to raise its total to $471.5 million. "The Dark Knight" passed the original "Star Wars" ($461 million) and now stands as No. 2 on the all-time domestic charts, behind only "Titanic" ($600.8 million). Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC.

• Tulsa Top Story - For the second time in the same day a stretch of highway just north of downtown Tulsa is closed down due to a truck wreck.
• Tulsa - This is the first weekend for an end of summer crackdown on boozed up motorists. Oklahoma law officers are joining in this nationwide effort.
• Tulsa - Tulsa's Mayor Kathy Taylor agrees giving voters a choice between a 12-year and $2-billion street plan or a 5-year and $451-million street plan could increase the chances of approving a street improvement package.
• Tulsa - School may have started but there is still one special summer camp happening this weekend. The Oklahoma Firefighters' 2008 Burn Camp is one place where children burned or disfigured can see other kids like themselves.
• Tulsa - The Tulsa County district attorney's office says a Tulsa police officer was justified when he shot a stabbing suspect following a stakeout. 
• Tulsa - A dispute over land near a proposed ballpark goes to lawyers and the courts. Mayor Taylor is asking the city attorney to look into allegations of ethics violations by the Tulsa Development Authority.

Talons clinch Central Division with 64-41
SportsThe Iowa Barnstormers (6-10) finished out the 2008 regular season with a 64-41 loss to Tulsa in front of a record-setting crowd of 10,512 at Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield field Saturday night. The crowd came out in force to show their support. The Barnstormers end the 2008 campaign second in the af2 in average attendance, behind only the Spokane Shock. The first quarter started off with the teams matching each other score for score. Iowa struck first with a Jeff Glas field goal. Tulsa's quarterback John Fitzgerald hit Kellen Allen in the end zone for the first of two touchdowns. The Barnstormers kept pace with a second Jeff Glas field goal and a Joe Brannen touchdown strike to Robert Kilow. The score at the end of the first quarter was tied at 13. The Talons clawed their way to a 31 point second quarter scoring five times.
