The Gilcrease Museum houses an extensive collection of art, artifacts, and manuscripts that contains pieces to the story of American history. Home of the world's largest and most comprehensive collection of art of the American West. The collection of artwork ranges from paintings to sculptures to drawings, with over 10,000 pieces by over 400 artists from all over the United States. There are over 250,000 artifacts that reflect life from the 19th century Indian tribes to the present. Finally, there is a collection of over 90,000 manuscripts, including some signed by Diego Columbus, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson. This museum is a great way to explore American history. Museum hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Public tours daily at 2 p.m. Closed Mondays and Christmas Day.
