The McFarlin Building is significant architecturally and is one of two Tulsa buildings associated with Robert M. McFarlin, oil man, banker, philanthropist and civic leader. Designed by St. Louis architects Barnett-Haynes-Barnett and constructed by engineer Brussel Viterbo, the McFarlin Building is a nineteenth-century, Renaissance Revival style building. The dark red brick upper stories of the exterior on the south and east elevations remain unaltered. Ornamentation includes three stone balconies, stylized lions, and urns. The building is topped by a large cornice supported by Victorian brackets. The building's interior has been substantially altered and has not retained its integrity. This building was listed in the National Register on December 6, 1979. It was listed under National Register Criterion C, and its NRIS number is 79002030.
