This 10,000 seating capacity auditorium was designed by Leland I. Shumway. The Pavilion, built of blond brick with terra cotta
ornamentation, has eight entrances. Each entrance has decorative terra cotta depicting livestock. Roofline terra cotta repeats a colorful pattern depicting the heads of a horse, steer and
ram on a background of flowers.
Tulsa's historic arena, the Expo Square Pavilion, recently received a major facelift, which was completed September 2001. Improvements include:
- New permanent seating
- Four locker/dressing rooms
- Two officials/star dressing rooms
- VIP and media rooms
- New ETC-controlled lighting system with selected dimmable halogens
- New 45,000 JBL, computer-controlled sound system
- New padded folding chairs for floor seating
- An 85 by 185 foot ice floor
The Pavilion has a total seating capacity of 6,311; 4,882 seats for concerts with no seating behind stage; and festival seating for 6,500.
The Pavilion is especially suitable for concerts and sporting events. As the saying goes, "There's
not a bad seat in the house". An extremely flexible arena, the Pavilion can go from an ice floor -
to a basketball court - and return to a normal floor seating configuration in a matter of hours.
