CRAYON RESIST PICTURES

You will need:

  • Paper
  • Crayons
  • Water color paints
  • Paintbrush
  • A container of water to dip your paints in

What to do:
  • Use some brightly colored crayons to draw a picture on a piece of paper. Leave some parts of the page plain (without crayon).
  • When you have finished the picture, paint over the whole picture with a dark water color paint (other paints don't usually work as well). It creates a great effect because the paint will not 'stick' to the crayon parts of the page, so the colorful picture shines through.

Things to try:

  • Try the same technique with things other than paper. You could make squiggly snakes with paddle pop sticks, or funny people with smooth rocks or eggs.
